Future Ecosystems
Helping you design and create regenerative landscapes, local food production systems and resilient communities, grounded in nature
About Me: Shifting Perspectives
In spite of all the bad news about the planet and where it is heading, I believe that we are rapidly moving into a new regenerative age where we will rise to the challenges before us and ultimately learn to live in harmony with nature once again.
This means that some of the old, unhelpful and outdated structures in our society need to shift or collapse. It also means that we the people have a lot of work to do! The old ways of farming simply won't work in many areas as we confront increasing climate variability, soil and land degradation and global supply chain issues associated with fossil fuels and fossil fuel-based fertilisers. Conservationists will also have to get used to rapidly changing ecosystems that are already evolving in response to climate change and are assimilating exotic species. We will all have to learn to trust that mother nature knows what she is doing and learn to work with nature rather than against her.
I work across Australia (and sometimes overseas) on a wide variety of conservation and land management projects. I have two decades of experience working as a consultant, planner, researcher, workshop facilitator, GIS analyst and project manager in conservation and land management. Over time I have expanded my area of practice to include regenerative property design with a focus on integration of food forests, permaculture systems and other sustainable food production systems that are highly productive, inspire and empower local communities.
I work on big projects and small projects. Feel free to contact me for a chat, some quick advice or a quote.
